pangoling reads your site and your search data, finds the searches your market is not covering, and drafts pages for them in your voice. You approve each piece before it goes live. This page walks through the first setup, start to finish.
Before you start
You need three things:
- A website on a domain you control, because you will add one DNS record to it.
- An email address. Sign-in is a link sent to your inbox, so there is no password to set.
- Ideally, access to the site's Google Search Console. It is optional, but it is where your real numbers come from.
pangoling is in private beta. When signups are open, start at pangol.ing/start. When they are closed, join the waiting list on the homepage.
The four signup steps
- Sign in. Enter your email and open the link we send you.
- Name your workspace. Give it your brand name and the site you want to grow. You can change both later. The workspace gets its own address, like
yourbrand.pangol.ing. - Verify your domain. Add one TXT record in your DNS, then press Verify domain. Nothing from your site is saved until this passes. While you wait, you get a free first read of your public pages.
- Choose your plan. See Plans and credits. You are charged from the first day and can cancel anytime.
The TXT record looks like this:
| Type | Name / host | Value |
|---|---|---|
| TXT | @ (the domain root), or _pangoling-verify | the value shown on the verify screen |
DNS changes can take a few minutes to spread. If the check does not pass right away, wait a moment and try again.
What pangoling does on its own
Once the plan is active, pangoling runs five steps without you. You can watch them tick off:
- Read your site. It crawls your pages and maps them into topics and roles.
- Learn your voice. It picks up your tone and article style from your live pages.
- Set how it writes for you. A short style guide for your site, and two house writers who take turns.
- Find your keywords. It pulls search data and, where it is available, the gaps between you and your rivals.
- Plan your first content. It builds a balanced plan and puts it on the calendar.
The five things only you can answer
Then come five short steps. Every one of them can be skipped and picked up later from the dashboard.
- Connect your website. This is where approved articles go live. Nothing is posted without your say-so. See Connect your site.
- Connect Search Console. Your own Google data: which searches already bring people to you. See Connect Search Console.
- Confirm your rivals. The sites you compete with in search. pangoling suggests some. Three is enough to start.
- Confirm what pangoling knows about you. Six short notes drafted from your own site. Every article is built on them, so read them properly. A wrong note shows up in every piece.
- Read your first article. One real draft, written in your voice, so you can judge the standard before anything runs on its own.
The Forage plan does not write, so it skips the website and first-article steps.
After setup
The workspace is usable as soon as the automatic steps finish. From the dashboard you can:
- read what pangoling found and what it suggests writing next,
- review drafts in Create and approve them or ask for changes,
- turn on Autopilot when you are happy with the drafts. See Autopilot and approvals.
To bring your team in, open Settings, then Team, and invite them by email. Each person gets their own sign-in link.
